Simply Injectables

A Complete Guide to Dermal Filler

All six of the dermal fillers we carry at Simply Injectables are made out of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar in our bodies and is thought to be nature’s best hydrator. Hyaluronic molecules attract or pull in 1,000 times its weight in water. This substance is often found in serums and moisturizers for this reason. The dermal filler we use to plump and hydrate the skin is formulated with different properties such as water loving, viscosity, and firmness. They all have lidocaine added to help with the discomfort that may be associated with injections. All six of the dermal fillers offered at Simply Injectables have the ability to be dissolved if necessary.

Juvéderm Volbella

Syringe size: 0.55ml

Duration: 6-8 months

Cost: $400

Uses: lips, vertical lip lines

We refer to this product as simply Volbella. Its name rolls off the tongue just as effortlessly as this product rolls out of the syringe. Out of all the dermal fillers, Volbella is the thinnest and most viscous making it the choice for soft delicate areas. Volbella is soft, light and subtle. It has a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid and therefore has less swelling and a lower juiciness factor. The only lip filler that can go undetected. I say this knowing that would be a serious plus for some and a waste of time for others. Volbella can refine the shape of lips. It defines the borders. It creates a lip lining effect. You’ll be waking up looking like you’ve just discovered the most effective Sephora lip plumper.

This product is also the gold standard for vertical lip lines. The perfect choice for person starting to notice subtle signs of aging -lip thinning, lip inversion and vertical lip lines.

Juvéderm Ultra XC

Syringe size: 1.0ml

Duration: 10-12 months

Cost: $500

Uses: lips, nasal labial folds, marionette, chin, jaw

We refer to this product as simply Juvéderm. Juvéderm is for those that want longer-lasting, fuller lips. After the initial swelling has come down, you are left with a natural, pouty and hydrated result. It should still be difficult for acquaintances to detect. Juvéderm is great for lips because its structural composition is slightly tighter than the other two choices which is good for shaping. Your lips but bigger and more ideally shaped. Your lips have never seen this level of hydration. We also use this product for smile lines (nasal labial folds), the down turning of the mouth (marionette) and sometimes for sharpening the jaw and chin. We choose this product for these areas over Juvederm Ultra Plus only when the volume deficit or degree of needed correction is small.

Juvéderm Ultra Plus

Syringe size: 1.0ml

Duration: 10-12 months

Cost: $500

Uses: lips, nasal labial folds, marionette, chin, jaw

At Simply Injectables we commonly refer to this product as Ultra Plus. This product is more viscous than Juvéderm Ultra XC but has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid. This is for clients who want that juice. The pillow factor is at its max capacity with this filler. Clients who want full bodied, pillowy pout this one’s for you.

We use Ultra Plus more often than Juvéderm for nasal labial folds, marionette, chin and jawline. These areas usually have a big need for volume rejuvenation and this product tends to have more bang for your buck.

Juvéderm Vollure

Syringe size: 1.0ml

Duration: 18 months

Cost: $600

Uses: Jaw, midface

Vollure is a happy medium between Juvéderm Ultra Plus and Voluma. It’s longer lasting, firmer and less forgiving than a Juvéderm but more flexible and less structural than Voluma. It is fit for deep smile lines in the midface and jawline contouring. Our goal with Vollure is to create smoother and tighter skin texture while replacing facial volume to restore youth.

Juvéderm Voluma

Syringe size: 1.0ml

Duration: 24 months

Cost: $700

Uses: cheeks and midface

Voluma is made up of the thickest and strongest gel of all the dermal fillers. This is why our area of choice is cheeks where we need lift and volume boost from underneath the tissue. Voluma looks beautiful on almost all ages. At its most subtle it brings health, youth and glow to someone’s face. At its most dramatic results it softens nasal labial folds, contours the face, smooths skin texture and provides lift which contrasts all 3 of the major symptoms of aging! It’s a miracle product. Hard to hate.

Restylane

Syringe size: 1.0ml

Duration: 12-18 months

Cost: $600

Uses: undereye

Restylane was the first dermal filler to be approved by the FDA in 2003 but is reported to have been used since 1996. At Simply Injectables we prefer to use this product for the under eye or tear trough area. The skin under the eye is extremely thin. Some dermal fillers have been found to produce a tyndall effect – or a bluish hue where the filler was placed. We’ve seen the almost 0 cases of the tyndall effect with restylane. It is soft and viscous like Volbella. It is our only pick for the most delicate area. The goal of this product is to look well rested and healthy in the undereye area.
